Volkswagen Reveals Bright Yellow Golf R 333 Limited Edition Before Big May 31 Unveiling: Similar to the 2022 20 Years Edition
VW R used YouTube to give us a sneak peek at the eye-catching yellow Golf R 333 Limited Edition, which will be officially shown on May 31. The “333” probably stands for the engine’s horsepower, which is just like the “20 Years Edition” we’ve seen before. If we’re right, this new Golf R will have 328 horsepower, making it the strongest one yet. As for power, we think it’ll have 309 pound-feet, just like the earlier special edition.
The short video shows a black “333” sticker near the bottom of the car doors, along with black side mirrors and a four-pipe exhaust system. We also see 19-inch wheels and blue brake parts. Like the 2022 model, it will probably only come as a small car (hatchback), even though the regular Golf R is available as a bigger car (wagon) in some places.
If it uses the same turbocharged 2.0-liter gas engine, the powerful Golf R will go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds and have a top speed of 168 mph.
VW said the updated Golf will come out in 2024, so this special version will be based on the current model.
