Earlier this year, Dacia confirmed the release of a new generation Duster, which has already been spied upon, and Kolesa has kindly provided us with a sneak peek into what this vehicle could look like. These digital illustrations are not official images or renderings, but they do take the spy photos as a basis, and attempt to reveal all the hidden elements behind the camouflage. The initial view of the new Duster depicted a prototype that was already decked out in production body and lights, albeit in disguise. While we were unable to discern all of its features, we did obtain a comprehensive overview of the vehicle’s overall size and boxy shape, as well as some minute details, like the C-column-concealed rear door handles and rear disc brakes.

Dacia previewed the design language of the new Duster with its Bigster concept, which will also receive a production version, becoming the marque’s first C-segment model when it hits the market in 2025. At approximately 4.6 meters (181 inches) in length, it will leave ample room for growth in the dimensions of the new Duster, providing even more cabin space. Additionally, the switch to Renault-Nissan Mitsubishi’s CMF-B architecture is expected to lead to packaging improvements, making the new Duster more practical than its predecessor.

The CMF-B platform, which is presently utilized by various Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi models, will enable Dacia to incorporate a hybrid powertrain beneath the hood of the Duster, allowing it to offer a more eco-friendly solution to consumers. While a plug-in system is possibly in the works, a hybrid engine without a plug, which is shared with the Jogger wagon, is currently expected. As for whether or not Dacia will market the new Duster with a diesel engine, it is too early to tell.

The new Duster will likely be unveiled later this year, with sales beginning in early 2024. In the meantime, expect to see numerous spy photos circulating.
