Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Dyno Run Results

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Surpasses Power Expectations in Dyno Test

Bugatti recently put its Chiron Super Sport model to the test on a dynamometer, a key tool for measuring a car’s power output. The aim? To definitively showcase the vehicle’s horsepower prowess. Officially, the Chiron Super Sport claims an output of 1,578 horsepower, or 1,600 ps in metric terms.

The results were startling. The car’s vast 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine pumped out 1,618 ps, translating to an astounding 1,596 horsepower. This figure exceeded Bugatti’s own rating by an unexpected 18 horsepower.

However, power at the wheels showed a roughly 20% loss, pegged at 1,301 ps or approximately 1,282 horsepower. Such a loss is typical for a machine with the Super Sport’s intricate all-wheel-drive system and transmission.

It’s noteworthy to mention that dyno tests can be temperamental, influenced by various factors, including equipment design. Yet, for this test, Bugatti used a specially crafted dynamometer fit for elite vehicles like the Chiron.

In essence, Bugatti’s latest examination not only confirmed the Chiron Super Sport’s immense power but also underlined the brand’s commitment to authenticity and precision in its performance claims.
