Porsche 911 GT3 992 Series Manthey Performance Kit

With a base price tag of $183,000, excluding delivery fees, the 502-horsepower Porsche 911 GT3 stands as an exceptional specimen of automotive engineering, a veritable gem in the high-performance car realm. The German marque’s remarkable feat, it has tamed the notoriously demanding Nurburgring in less than seven minutes, earning its stripes as a sterling performer. For a more elevated experience of speed, enthusiasts can upgrade to the GT3 RS for an extra $58,400. Alternatively, a slightly less expensive option exists in the form of the Manthey-Racing Performance Kit, available for $57,300 – a saving of $1,100. This does not include the optional wheels, though.

Devotees of the iconic brand will immediately recognize the name Manthey-Racing. The performance kit, crafted meticulously for the 911 GT3, promises to augment its track prowess without detracting from its suitability as a daily driver. The enhancement package initiates its improvements with an enlarged lip spoiler and petite wings appended to the front fascia. These modifications, paired with aero adjustments beneath, stimulate greater downforce on the front tires. Rearward, the kit features a broader spoiler, a Gurney flap, expanded end plates, and a revised angle. Additionally, aero discs for the rear wheels and an improved rear diffuser with more substantial carbon fiber-reinforced plastic fins add to the mix.

A symbiotic collaboration between Manthey and Porsche birthed an advanced coilover suspension system to maximize the benefits of the aerodynamic modifications. This tool-less adjustable four-way system bolsters the rear spring rates by a subtle seven percent, while the front sees a ten percent increase in stiffness. Alongside these enhancements are braided stainless steel brake lines and the opportunity to upgrade brake pads for an additional undisclosed cost. The optional wheels, which shed unsprung mass by 16 pounds, come with a significant price tag of $15,500.

Porsche claims that the inclusion of the Manthey Performance Kit shaves off an impressive 4.1 seconds on a full-speed Nurburgring lap when compared to the base model, clocking in at 6:55.737. This, however, still lags behind the 911 GT3 RS by a smattering of seconds. After the inclusion of the optional wheels, the total expense for the enhancement package scales up to an imposing $72,800. This sum could alternatively fund a mildly slower 911 GT3 and an all-new 718 Boxster for top-down driving pleasure.

The cost of the performance kit comes with a silver lining – installation is included at a Manthey-certified Porsche Center, and the enhancement doesn’t compromise the factory warranty of the car. Those cautious about investing in the kit can test-drive a Manthey-equipped 911 GT3 at Porsche Experience Centers in Los Angeles and Atlanta. These test drive sessions, lasting 90 minutes, come with a cost of $1,675, adding a premium touch to the hands-on experience.
