Nissan Reveals The The GT R R32 That Will Be Converted To EV

In an unexpected turn of events, Nissan left many astonished when it disclosed its intentions to transform an R32-generation GT-R into an electric marvel late last month. The sports car’s current condition is showcased in a comprehensive walkaround video shared by Nissan on Twitter, moments before the internal combustion engine’s departure. This particular specimen, like all Skyline models produced between 1989 and 1993, boasts a right-hand-drive configuration and features a sleek two-door design.

Upon translation, the tweet reads: “We will deliver the current state of the R32 Skyline GT-R that converts to EV.”

The R32 EV venture remains in its nascent stages, having been inspired by a creative engineer’s ambition to bestow the iconic Skyline with an electric heart.

Nissan has maintained an air of mystery surrounding the specifics of the R32 EV. However, to preserve the cherished all-wheel-drive setup, the automaker would need to incorporate a duo of electric motors – one dedicated to each axle.

Patience will be key as the project’s completion is not imminent, given that Nissan is merely embarking on this electrifying journey. Whether this endeavor remains a unique creation or serves as a harbinger of future electric crate motors designed to breathe new life into classic GT-Rs remains to be seen.
