Ram Gives the 2024 1500 TRX a Proper Send Off With Final Edition

The commencement of the finale for the Ram 1500 TRX is upon us, accompanied by the carmaker’s grand introduction of the Final Edition, signifying the last iteration of this pickup truck series to house the impressive HEMI engine.

As such, for potential buyers, this marks the concluding opportunity to grasp hold of a HEMI-powered Ram 1500 TRX. This, of course, assumes that the bewildering nomenclature of this unique version doesn’t deter them: the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 – Final Edition.

Under the hood of this model lies the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8, an engine that is preparing to step back from its role by the conclusion of 2023, making space for the looming trends of downsizing and electrification.

Derived from the robust foundation of the 1500 TRX, a pickup truck globally acknowledged for its formidable power, the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 – Final Edition retains its standard power of 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. These values are more than adequate for an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in a swift 4.5 seconds, with the quarter-mile sprint being conquered in 12.9 seconds at a remarkable 108 mph. At the zenith, the speedometer touches 118 mph. The engine allocates its prowess to all four corners via the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

In the production cycle of the 2024 model year, a limited assembly of merely 4,000 units will traverse the production line. These vehicles will be offered in a spectrum of eight exterior colors, among which three are novel and distinctive: Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise. Anticipate a broader array of customization alternatives as stated by the carmaker. The menu also includes Satin Titanium bead-lock capable wheels, which are accompanied by a congruent 6.2-liter hood badge and bed decal.

Within the cabin, the dashboard and seats showcase Patina stitching, while the rear of the seats proudly bears an embroidered TRX logo. Future custodians of the Final Edition will also relish a cluster splash screen, an ultra-premium center console badge that displays the unit’s production number, and a passenger-side TRX dashboard badge endowed with a Satin Titanium finish.

Distinctive Triaxle-suede door panel inserts contribute to the distinct ambiance. The instrument panel, doors, center console, and steering wheel are bedecked in 4×4 weave matte carbon fiber. Technological sophistication is further amplified by the inclusion of a 19-inch Harman Kardon premium sound system, a Head-Up Display, and a digital rear-view mirror.

In the words of Ram brand CEO, Tim Kuniskis, this might seem like the end, but the chronicles of the TRX are far from being penned. Promising additional revelations, he hints at the impending emergence of another pickup truck infused with some form of electrification and a downsized powerplant, akin to the V6 Hurricane—a replacement for the venerable HEMI V8.

However, until that juncture arrives, the RAM 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 – Final Edition remains poised for orders in the fourth quarter of 2023, commencing at a base price of $117,625, which is augmented by the $1,995 destination fee.
