New 2024 Mercedes Benz GLS Class Lineup Revealed

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the latest version of the GLS-Class, set to hit US markets later this year. With a fresh look across the range, including the Maybach and AMG variants, the 2024 model features slight styling upgrades for the regular GLS. These include a Silver Shadow finish on the four louvers of the grille, high-gloss black surrounds for the air inlet grilles on the bumper, and a taillight design with a signet motif made up of three horizontal blocks. Two new paint choices are also available: Twilight Blue Metallic and Manufaktur Alpine Grey Non-Metallic.

The GLS450 4Matic features a powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, producing 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. With an impressive 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph, this SUV is a force to be reckoned with. The GLS580 4Matic ups the ante with its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing an impressive 510 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. It has a quicker 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 4.7 seconds and the same top speed of 130 mph. For those looking for even more power, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 features the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as the GLS580 but with an impressive 550 horsepower and a higher top speed of 155 mph. Finally, the Mercedes-AMG GLS63 takes things to another level with its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a whopping 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 174 mph, making it the most powerful and fastest of the GLS models.

Inside, the MBUX infotainment system has been upgraded to offer more display choices. The system now has three graphic styles to choose from – Classic, Sporty, and Discreet – and three modes: Navigation, Assistance, and Service. In addition, drivers can select from seven color schemes. In the Off-Road setting, the system displays information about the vehicle’s tilt angles, compass, and camera view from underneath the front bumper.

Mercedes has introduced new upholstery options for the GLS as well. The new Catalana Beige and Bahia Brown leather options add to the vehicle’s luxurious interior. The trim choices include High-Gloss Brown Linden Wood and Manufaktur Piano Lacquer Flowing Lines.

The GLS580 4MATIC model now offers an optional Off-Road Engineering Package that includes a front skid plate and 1.2 inches of additional ground clearance.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 receives minor upgrades, including ambient lighting that features an animated projection of the brand logo as standard. The seat upholstery now has perforated, diamond-quilted leather. Additionally, a new option of 23-inch forged wheels is now available.

The Mercedes-AMG GLS63 also has a few small tweaks, including light projectors that display an AMG-specific animation on the ground. A software update has adjusted the settings for the roll stabilization and air suspension systems. New Bahia Brown/Black and Macchiato Beige/Black Nappa leather upholstery options are available, and the sporty model now comes standard with a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and adaptive high beams.

Overall, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class provides drivers with a range of new and upgraded features, making it a luxurious and high-tech option in the SUV market.
