The classic Mini, a beloved icon of British personal transportation for many decades, underwent a significant transformation when it was acquired by the BMW Group in 2000. However, the automotive landscape continues to evolve, and now, David Brown Automotive has unveiled an exciting addition to its vehicle lineup – the Mini eMastered. This new incarnation of the classic Mini takes a bold step into the future with an all-electric powertrain.

The Mini eMastered, a meticulously crafted urban vehicle, is propelled by a 72-kilowatt (equivalent to 96 horsepower) Zonic 70 electric motor. This powerplant draws its energy from a perfectly calibrated 18.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack. Thanks to this electrifying combination, the compact EV can journey up to 110 miles on a single charge. Notably, it boasts a brisk acceleration, sprinting from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a mere 8.5 seconds, while its top speed is sensibly capped at 92 mph.

David Brown Automotive takes pride in maintaining the original’s lightweight ethos, with the Mini eMastered tipping the scales at just 1,411 pounds (equivalent to 650 kilograms). Remarkably, this weight matches that of the original gasoline-powered iteration. Furthermore, recharging the aforementioned battery pack is a swift process, with the capability to replenish at a rate of up to 6.6 kW when connected to an AC source, completing the task in a mere three hours.

The Mini eMastered, however, does come with a premium price tag, starting at approximately $154,500 or £125,000 in the UK (excluding VAT, local tax, and additional fees). This level of investment may seem substantial, yet it grants you the rare opportunity to own a bespoke classic Mini, handcrafted to your exact specifications, a truly unique proposition in the world of automotive engineering.
