2024 Mitsubishi compact SUV Design Revealed Ahead Of August 10 Debut

Mitsubishi is all set to unveil its brand new compact crossover at the 2023 Indonesia International Auto Show on August 10. Though it hasn’t been officially named yet, we can confirm that it will be based on last year’s XFC Concept, with some adjustments for a toned-down appearance. The exterior design remains mostly unchanged, with the addition of conventional door handles, regular side mirrors (instead of cameras), and less flashy lights.

The technical details revealed so far promise a 1.5-liter engine, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and front-wheel drive. The crossover will ride on 18-inch wheels and boast an impressive ground clearance of 222 millimeters (8.7 inches), leading the segment.

While Mitsubishi keeps the interior under wraps for now, we know it will feature a custom Yamaha sound system. An earlier teaser hinted at a dashboard design following the trend of side-by-side screens, which is popular among automakers these days. To get an idea of what the production model’s cabin might look like, one can refer to last year’s XFC Concept.

Once the grand debut takes place next week, the compact crossover will go into production at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia, located in Bekasi, West Java. The production units will start shipping to customers in November. Alongside the crossover, Mitsubishi will also showcase the eK X EV electric kei car at the 2023 Indonesia International Auto Show. This marks the first time this electric vehicle will be exhibited outside Japan.

In conclusion, Mitsubishi is gearing up to introduce its latest compact crossover with exciting design features and impressive technical specifications. With the production scheduled to commence soon after the public debut, car enthusiasts can look forward to getting their hands on this new offering by Mitsubishi. Additionally, the appearance of the eK X EV electric kei car at the auto show indicates the brand’s commitment to exploring and expanding its presence in the electric vehicle market.
