2024 Ford Mustang Mach E Rally Revealed With Raised Suspension

Ford has taken the wraps off the highly-anticipated Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, a new entrant in their electric vehicle arsenal that promises an electrifying rally experience. This electrifying crossover is armed with a potent dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, distinctive 19-inch white alloy wheels oozing rally-inspired aesthetics, an augmented suspension system, and a rear spoiler as part of the standard package, among other enticing features.

The Mach-E Rally, previously showcased as a dynamic prototype at the prestigious Goodwood Festival Of Speed, rides on a modified suspension setup that provides an additional 0.78 inches (approximately 20 millimeters) of ground clearance compared to its sibling, the Mach-E GT. This enhancement is complemented by meticulously tuned MagneRide shocks, fine-tuned to elevate the vehicle’s on-road prowess.

Beneath its sleek exterior, the Mach-E Rally boasts two electric motors—one stationed at the front and the other at the rear. Together, they harmoniously unleash a formidable targeted power output, registering at least 480 horsepower and a jaw-dropping 650 pound-feet of torque. Speed enthusiasts will rejoice in the anticipated 0 to 60 miles per hour sprint time of a mere 3.5 seconds.

It’s worth noting that these specifications are preliminary estimates, subject to potential adjustments before the vehicle’s official market debut slated for the first half of the forthcoming year. One variable in the equation is the estimated range, which Ford anticipates to hover around the 250-mile mark. This impressive range can be attributed to a robust 91-kilowatt-hour battery pack, primed to embrace DC fast charging at speeds up to 150 kilowatts.

To set itself apart from its Mach-E counterparts, the Rally EV flaunts a striking ensemble. Its 19-inch glossy white rims exude a sense of sportiness, accompanied by substantial 15.1-inch (or 385-mm) front brake rotors, featuring eye-catching red Brembo calipers. Rally-inspired fog lights adorn the front fascia, evoking the spirit of motorsport. Paying homage to the Focus RS, a sporty rear spoiler graces the rear, while a front splitter adds a dash of aggression. The black-painted steel roof lends a touch of sophistication, and a pair of racing stripes contribute to the overall performance aesthetics.

For those venturing off the beaten path, the Mach-E Rally is equipped with 235/55 R19 Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, offering enhanced sidewall protection compared to the standard variants found on other Mach-E trims. Additional safeguards include specialized shields guarding the front and rear motors, protective film shielding the door cladding and fender arches, and the option of dealer-installed mud flaps. A built-in recovery point at the front completes the practical package, featuring a robust hook for tackling challenging off-road situations.

Stepping inside the cabin reveals a tasteful infusion of gloss white accents, gracing the dashboard, the lower spokes of the steering wheel, and the backs of Ford’s signature performance seats. The doors receive an elegant touch with contrast stitching, rounding off the interior aesthetics.

Promoted as Ford’s inaugural rally-inspired electric vehicle, the Mach-E Rally introduces a distinct RallySport Drive Mode, tailor-made for off-road adventures. This specialized mode offers increased yaw for thrilling slides, a linear throttle response for precision control, and more aggressive damping to conquer rugged terrain with aplomb, according to the company’s claims.

During a media presentation, Ford officials disclosed that engineers and technicians subjected prototypes of this off-road-oriented EV to rigorous 500-mile simulations of rally-cross durability trials, benchmarking them against the formidable Subaru WRX.

With an anticipated starting MSRP of $65,000 in the United States, the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally is poised for production commencement early next year. Deliveries are expected to follow promptly, encompassing North America and Europe, joining the ranks of its Mach-E brethren. The standard color palette includes Grabber Blue, Shadow Black, Eruption Green, and Grabber Yellow. For those seeking customization, Star White and Glacier Gray will be available as optional extras, at an added cost.
