The name Raptor, which is also well known from a similar version of the larger F-150 pickup, will soon be added to the Ranger. Photos of test samples in a camouflage film have repeatedly appeared on the Web, thanks to which we have the opportunity to evaluate the appearance of a future truck.
Most notably, the Ranger Raptor will be distinguished by its front end. A slightly wider radiator grille with a large Ford inscription will appear there, perhaps three position lights will be placed in the upper part, a similar solution was used on the older F-150 Raptor pickup truck. Also, the truck will receive a different front bumper, providing better off-roading capability. Another characteristic feature of the Raptor is the wheel arches and larger wheels, which are significantly pushed out thanks to the fender flares. A new bumper will also appear at the rear, under which there will be a pair of exhaust pipes, one on each side, and an updated tailgate.
The new Ranger Raptor is developed in the Australian engineering center of the company. The pickup truck is built on a modernized T6 platform from the previous model, the frame and suspension have undergone changes, and the wheelbase has increased by 50 mm (up to 3270 mm). The base Ranger is powered by the same 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbodiesel, along with the 3.0-litre V6 from the F-150 and the 2.3 EcoBoost turbo-four. As for the Raptor, it can get a bi-turbo 2.7 V6 with 310 hp, and 400 Nm of torque. or a 3-liter engine from the Explorer ST SUV with 406 hp and 563 Nm of torque.
