2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 SE Long Range RWD 361 Mile EPA Estimated Driving Range

The new all-electric Hyundai IONIQ 6 has undergone extensive testing by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and has received highly favorable results. The IONIQ 6 SE Long Range RWD trim received an EPA-estimated range of 361 miles, making it one of the longest-range electric vehicles currently available. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 6 SE AWD achieved an impressive 316 miles of range, further demonstrating the vehicle’s impressive efficiency.

In addition to its long range, the IONIQ 6 also boasts impressive fuel efficiency, as confirmed by the EPA testing. The IONIQ 6 SE RWD Long Range received a 140 combined MPGe rating, putting it on par with two Lucid Air models that are currently ranked among the top ten vehicles on Fueleconomy.gov’s 2023 list.

Hyundai’s focus on efficiency and performance was highlighted by Olabisi Boyle, Vice President of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy at Hyundai Motor North America. Boyle stated that the company’s development teams are always striving to improve the efficiency of their vehicles, and in the case of the IONIQ 6, they opted to optimize its aerodynamics and modular electric platform, rather than simply adding a larger battery to increase range.

The IONIQ 6’s sleek, aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of 0.22, is a result of several key design elements, including a low nose, active air flaps, wheel gap reducers, elliptical wing-inspired spoiler with winglet, slight boattail structure, separation traps on both sides of the rear bumper, full underbody cover, deflectors, and reduced wheel-arch gaps. These features work together to reduce drag and increase efficiency, making the IONIQ 6 one of the most efficient electric vehicles on the market today.
