As the latest fifth-generation model takes the stage, it was merely a matter of time before the environmentally conscious icon would unveil its more spirited persona.
Let us introduce you to the Toyota Prius 24 hour Le Mon Centennial GR Edition. Today, on the dawning of the 100th anniversary of the renowned endurance race at the Circuit de la Sarthe, this exceptional vehicle made its official debut. Now, you may wonder, what could possibly link the Prius with Le Mans? Well, this trailblazing eco-friendly marvel has played a vital role in the evolution of Gazoo Racing’s hybrid technology. This technology has undergone significant improvements throughout the years, as demonstrated by the TS030, TS040, TS050, and the recent GR010 endurance race cars, all proudly sporting the “Hybrid” suffix.
The conceptual sports-oriented Prius dons a comprehensive aerodynamic package, consisting of front canards and splitter, muscular side skirts, fender flares, a prominent rear wing, and an imposing diffuser. Toyota’s performance division has further enhanced this vehicle by equipping it with a carbon fiber hood and state-of-the-art four-point LED lights, taking inspiration from the GR010 Hybrid.
This athletic hybrid cruises on specially crafted RAYS wheels, meticulously designed for aerodynamic optimization, measuring a solid 18 inches. These wheels are wrapped in 235 50 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, ensuring excellent performance. Additionally, the lower front air intake has been refined, featuring an intricate honeycomb structure, while insiders whisper about the GR Prius remarkable “wide-track suspension.”
