Tesla Cybertruck Reaches Release Candidate Production and Testing Phase

Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory is currently in the process of constructing release candidate units of the highly anticipated Cybertruck. These units are being rigorously tested worldwide to ensure their final certification and validation, as revealed by the company during the Q2 2023 Earnings Call held yesterday.

This announcement follows the recent posting of an image showcasing a completed Cybertruck on Tesla’s official Twitter account. Many believed this indicated the commencement of small-scale production for the all-electric pickup after encountering two years of delays.

However, new information has come to light, revealing that the Texas factory is currently in the pre-production phase. Tesla has clarified that initial production is on schedule to commence later this year. Additionally, the company has made significant progress on its next-generation platform, which will serve as the foundation for an upcoming model that is expected to be more affordable but has yet to be released.

Tesla’s electric vehicle division asserts that the highly anticipated Cybertruck is the first sub-19 feet truck with four doors and a bed exceeding six feet in length. Although exact dimensions were not provided, it is evident that the Cybertruck outperforms both the Ford F-150 Lightning and the Rivian R1S in terms of bed length. Ford’s truck measures 5.5 feet long, while the R1S has a bed length of 4.5 feet.

To our current knowledge, the Cybertruck will be the first truck under 19 feet in length, allowing it to fit into standard garages, while still offering four doors and a bed over six feet long. This vehicle is set to push boundaries in terms of technology and architecture, aligning with Tesla’s innovative approach to vehicle engineering and manufacturing.

Recent images have been released, showcasing the Cybertruck in various testing phases and on the assembly line at the Texas facility. One noteworthy detail in the photo taken in a muddy environment is the limited coverage provided by the single wiper for the front passenger, which could potentially be a source of frustration during extended rainy road trips.

As always, we value your opinion. We encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments section below regarding these latest developments in Tesla’s Cybertruck production and testing process.
