Automobili Pininfarina has introduced the PURA Vision design concept, marking a pioneering era of electric luxury vehicles. The concept embodies the company’s PURA design philosophy, blending the DNA of iconic models from Pininfarina’s past with futuristic elements to envision a stunning electric Luxury Utility Vehicle (e-LUV).
The PURA Vision design concept will serve as inspiration for the next generation of Automobili Pininfarina’s pure electric luxury vehicles. It made its public debut at the Monterey Car Week in August alongside other groundbreaking vehicles.
The design study showcases bold cab-rear proportions, elegant silhouette, and distinctive features like narrow glasshouse and tri-opening pillarless doors that grant easy access to its sophisticated cabin.
The CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, Paolo Dellachà, states that PURA Vision represents a bridge between the present and an exciting new chapter for the company. It presents a modern design philosophy inspired by Pininfarina’s rich heritage and will define a collection of beautiful luxury cars.
The exterior design of PURA Vision exhibits a striking face with hidden headlights and L.E.S.S. nanofibre lighting technology, resulting in a unique daytime running light signature. The use of advanced materials and color finishes complements the vehicle’s athletic presence.
The interior of PURA Vision is inspired by luxury sailing yachts, with ‘floating’ front seats and a center console resembling the boom of a sail. It offers a spacious and welcoming cabin, and the electric powertrain allows for a flat floor and expansive interior space, enhanced by the panoramic glass roof.
The vehicle’s technology-rich cabin offers connected convenience with an intuitive central touchscreen, advanced digital instrumentation, and a personalized head-up display for the driver. The attention to detail is evident with the application of advanced technologies like stowable central display and individual sound zones for each occupant.
PURA Vision embraces sustainable innovation with the use of authentic and tactile materials. The cabin features crisp white finishes, charcoal leather accents, soft semi-aniline leather, and exposed carbon fiber, contributing to a sense of crafted contemporary luxury. Sustainable materials, like 30% Nativa wool and 70% recycled polyester, are used in signature textiles.
The design concept was developed by Automobili Pininfarina’s in-house family of engineering and manufacturing experts in Italy. The company has a team of over 100 professionals from more than 20 different nationalities, combining global expertise to shape a new era in electric mobility.
