Porsche 911 S/T and 718 Spyder RS in Ruby Star Neo

The Porsche 911 S/T is an anniversary model celebrating the 60th anniversary of the 911, and it’s limited to 1,963 units reflecting its inaugural year. As the lightest 911 of the 992 generation, the S/T boasts a 4.0-liter boxer engine delivering 518 horsepower, capable of reaching a maximum engine speed of 9,000 rpm. This powerhouse is paired with a lightweight clutch and a manual transmission, emphasizing a pure, undiluted driving experience. The S/T’s design incorporates GT and motorsport expertise, aiming for nimble and agile handling suitable for winding roads. Lightweight components like carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts, magnesium wheels, and a lithium-ion starter battery contribute to its curb weight of just 3,056 lbs, making it 70 lbs lighter than the 911 GT3 Touring. It’s a blend of various elements from the 911 GT3 RS and 911 GT3 with Touring Package, aiming to provide a unique driving experience within the 911 GT portfolio.

The Porsche 718 Spyder RS, on the other hand, is a celebration of thirty years since the Boxster concept was introduced, representing the pinnacle of the mid-engined family. It is the most powerful version of the mid-engined roadster to date, featuring a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine derived from the 911 GT3, producing 500 horsepower. The engine, also used in the 911 GT3 Cup racing car, is paired with a seven-speed PDK transmission, enabling the roadster to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 308 km/h. The 718 Spyder RS is lighter than its predecessors, weighing in at 1,410 kg, and sports a purist-pleasing manual soft-top roof that enhances the auditory experience of the high-revving engine. Aerodynamically, it shares similarities with the 718 Cayman GT4 RS but features a distinctive ducktail rear spoiler for balanced aerodynamics.

The Ruby Star Neo color introduced with the 718 Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models in 2023 is a modern take on the historic Ruby Star Red. It’s a non-Paint to Sample option, possibly offered at an additional cost, but not as much as the Paint to Sample options. The Ruby Star Neo color is darker and more modern with a less saturated hue than its historical counterpart, adding a new vibrant option to Porsche’s color palette.
