Today, INFINITI pulled the curtains off the Vision Qe concept, granting a glimpse into the brand’s electric transition. Unveiled amidst a serene setup by Tokyo Bay, this concept showcases an advanced design narrative, paving the way for INFINITI’s premier all-electric sedan.
A significant highlight of the Vision Qe is its refreshed iteration of INFINITI’s “Artistry in Motion” design philosophy, marked by a characteristic seamless flow line. This defining line traverses from the hood, across the fenders, reaching unto the rear, embodying a fluidic aesthetic. The recognizable “double arch” grille design of INFINITI is retained, albeit with a modern twist. The conventional grille insert makes way for innovative lighting fixtures stretching across the front bumper’s breadth, infusing a contemporary flair.
The newfangled, slender, hook-shaped headlights stretch onto the front fenders, embodying what INFINITI terms as the “digital piano key” design. The robust lower front bumper showcases an assertive demeanor, adorned with LEDs that trace its geometric contour. Even the INFINITI emblem on the hood gets a luminescent touch, signifying a blend of tradition and modernity.
As of now, specifics such as horsepower, battery prowess, and driving range remain under wraps. Nonetheless, INFINITI hints at a “performance” persona paired with an “engaging all-electric drive,” showing a promising direction. Currently, the crown of potency within the INFINITI lineage is held by the Q50 and Q60 Red Sport models, boasting 400 horsepower, indicating a spectrum of enhancement awaits.
Vision Qe stands as a precursor to INFINITI’s electric voyage, marking its first production Electric Vehicle (EV), although the exact launch timeline remains fuzzy. Following the sedan, an electric SUV is on the anvil, with a duo of gasoline models set to expand the INFINITI range come next year.
Come 2024, a fresh face in the form of Infiniti QX80 is set to grace the automotive stage, drawing inspiration from the QX Monograph concept introduced earlier this year. This progression signals INFINITI’s earnest stride towards embracing an electrified automotive landscape, blending age-old design ethos with modern-day electric vehicular tech.
