Ferrari SF90 XX SPIDER

Ferrari has taken a remarkable leap forward by introducing two groundbreaking models, namely the SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider. These extraordinary vehicles not only excel on the race track but also deliver an exhilarating experience on public roads. While they are produced in limited quantities, with just 799 hardtops and 599 droptops manufactured, these models provide fortunate customers with exceptional power and performance.

The SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider both feature a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that is supported by three electric motors. The combined power output of an astonishing 1,016 horsepower surpasses the standard SF90 Stradale’s 986 horsepower. The V8 engine in the SF90 XX Stradale alone generates an impressive 786 horsepower, owing to advancements such as new pistons, precise combustion chamber machining, and polished inlet and exhaust ducts. Notably, the intake plenum tube has been positioned closer to the cabin bulkhead to amplify the engine’s sound within the car. Furthermore, the elimination of the secondary air system has resulted in a weight reduction of 7.72 pounds.

The electric motors have also undergone improvements and now provide a combined output of 229 horsepower. The battery capacity remains at 7.9 kilowatt-hours, allowing for an electric-only range of 15.53 miles and a top speed of 84 mph. In Qualifying driving mode, the SF90 XX benefits from an additional boost function from the electric motors, delivering increased power when exiting corners and reducing lap times by 0.25 seconds on the Fiorano circuit. The battery can supply up to 30 of these power boosts.

Both models are equipped with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that features revised software, which produces a distinctive gear change noise resembling the high-rev exhaust note. The acceleration is awe-inspiring, with a 0-62 mph time of 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph.

Ferrari has not overlooked the crucial aspect of braking performance. The SF90 XX Stradale boasts redesigned front calipers with enhanced cooling, while the rear rotors have been enlarged to 390 millimeters. The integration of an ABS EVO controller, working in conjunction with a 6W-CDS sensor, ensures precise braking distribution based on the vehicle’s speed.

In terms of design, the SF90 XX Stradale has received aggressive styling enhancements, including a larger front splitter that improves airflow beneath the car. The overall aerodynamic modifications generate over 99 pounds of downforce at 155 mph, surpassing the regular model. Additional aero elements, such as ducts on the nose, gills on the fenders, and inlets on the engine cover, contribute to improved performance and visual appeal.

The interior changes are subtle yet refined, featuring an Alcantara dashboard, carbon-fiber trim, and an optimized gearshift selector position. The seats, which appear as a single-piece design, offer adjustable backrests through elastic trim connections.

For those seeking the thrill of open-top driving, the SF90 XX Spider provides an exhilarating experience. Retaining most of the SF90 XX Stradale’s features, the Spider variant adds the convenience of a retractable roof, which can be operated in just 14 seconds.
