2024 Skoda Kodiaq Teased and Rendered

With a staggering tally of over 60,000 deliveries to European customers throughout the previous year, the Kodiaq holds an eminent status among Skoda’s array of models. Initially launched in 2016, this three-row SUV is now displaying signs of aging, prompting the development of a brand-new generation. The much-anticipated debut of this refreshed iteration is slated for the upcoming fall season, and the preparations for its production are currently in full swing.

To give us a glimpse into what lies ahead, Skoda has recently unveiled two tantalizing teaser images showcasing the body of the 2024 Kodiaq. However, due to the absence of bumpers, lights, windows, or wheels in these images, deciphering detailed aspects of its design proves to be an arduous task. Nonetheless, from this early glimpse, it appears that the SUV will retain its fundamental proportions with minimal alterations. Furthermore, previous teaser images and spy photos have hinted that the Kodiaq’s exterior design won’t undergo a dramatic overhaul.

Thankfully, the talented folks at Kolesa have taken it upon themselves to render a few images, providing their predictions of the new SUV’s appearance.

For its second generation, one of Skoda’s most utilitarian vehicles, alongside the Superb Combi, will continue to be manufactured at the esteemed Kvasiny plant. Presently, this facility is responsible for producing both the Karoq and the Superb. However, the next-generation Superb will be shifted to Bratislava, thereby creating additional production capacity in Kvasiny for an extra 150,000 units of the Kodiaq and Karoq annually.

In an effort to embrace eco-friendly technology, the new Kodiaq will include a plug-in hybrid variant, assembled on the same production line as the conventional combustion-powered models. Skoda is committing substantial resources, approximately $13 million, to convert the existing production line, enabling it to meet the demands of the next-generation SUV and its electrified powertrain. At full capacity, the Kvasiny plant aims to churn out up to 410 Kodiaq units per day.

First introduced to the world at the Paris Motor Show back in 2016, the Kodiaq has already amassed a remarkable production volume of over 800,000 units. The name “Kodiaq” draws inspiration from the Kodiak bear, the largest brown bear species inhabiting the eponymous island. The second-generation Kodiaq, built on the MQB platform, will make its grand debut at a standalone event later this year. Meanwhile, Skoda is diligently working on the next-generation Superb, which is also set to be unveiled at a dedicated event later in the year.
