When Porsche unveiled the third generation of their Cayenne, many were left wondering about the absence of the powerful Turbo version. This curiosity lingered until late August 2023 when the automaker finally broke their silence and introduced a new, even better version called the Turbo E-Hybrid. The Turbo E-Hybrid not only surpassed the previous Turbo S in terms of power but also boasted improved fuel efficiency and a smaller footprint compared to its predecessor. Porsche made the switch from Turbo S to Turbo E-Hybrid for both the regular SUV and the SUV Coupe models.

Looking at the front fascia, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe GT Package shares a striking similarity with its sibling. It features a wide black grille flanked by tall air scoops housing slender LED light strips for the daytime running lights. Lower on the bumper, you’ll find a third trapezoidal air intake. When viewed from the side, this large SUV displays its coupe-like design with a roofline that slopes down from above the rear seats. Adding to its sporty appearance are the black trims around the wheel arches, both front and rear, which accentuate the look of the 22″ light alloy wheels. It also sits 10 mm (0.4″) lower to the ground compared to the standard version, contributing to better stability. To enhance performance during high-speed cornering, Porsche constructed the car’s roof using lightweight carbon fiber.

Inside the cabin, the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe GT Package primarily accommodates four passengers, although there are seatbelts for three in the back. Front passengers enjoy sports seats and a unique infotainment system that stretches from the instrument cluster to the side passenger area. The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe GT Package even offers high-bolstered seats at the front, with the option of Alcantara and Leather trims for added luxury.

But what truly sets this model apart is what’s under the hood. Porsche has equipped it with a formidable drivetrain, consisting of a twin-turbo V8 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. An electric motor complements this setup, resulting in an impressive combined power output of 730 HP (739 PS). This immense power is distributed to all four wheels of the SUV, which relies on an air suspension specially tuned for optimal performance. Thanks to the two-chamber technology in the suspension, the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe GT Package offers a comfortable ride for its occupants. To bring this heavy SUV to a halt, Porsche has incorporated substantial brakes on all four wheels and even offers an option to upgrade to ceramic brakes (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake – PCCB). These braking enhancements and other performance improvements come as standard with the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe GT package.

Overall, the 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid with the GT Package is a remarkable addition to the Porsche lineup, delivering a perfect blend of power, style, and innovation.
