2024 Porsche Cayenne Deep Dive On All Features

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne has been unveiled and it’s more than just a mere facelift. The updates and enhancements are extensive, encompassing everything from the exterior styling to the interior design and even the powertrain. The new Cayenne boasts refreshed styling and an interior that takes inspiration from the Taycan, offering additional standard equipment and increased horsepower.

Upon first glance, the refreshed Cayenne’s new features may not be immediately apparent. The model has undergone some subtle but significant alterations to its exterior, including a new front bumper, headlights, hood, fenders and a revised rear end with new lights, as well as the license plate being shifted to the bumper. Despite the changes, the overall look remains familiar.

However, the inside of the vehicle has undergone a major transformation. The dashboard of the new Cayenne is heavily influenced by the Taycan and boasts a curved instrument display without a cowl, measuring 12.6 inches. There is also enough space for not only a center infotainment screen measuring 12.3 inches, but an optional passenger-side screen measuring 10.9 inches as well. The toggle shifter has been moved up onto the dashboard, but the dual center console handles that are a signature feature of the Cayenne remain.

Even more exciting are the powertrain updates. Every version of the Cayenne now offers more power than before. The base turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine now offers an additional 13 horsepower and 36 pound-feet of torque, bringing the total figures to 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of twist. The Cayenne E-Hybrid combines this engine with a 174 horsepower motor, up by 40 horses, for a total of 463 horsepower. It now features a larger 25.9-kWh battery pack, which should provide a significant improvement over the previous Cayenne E-Hybrid’s 17-mile EV range. The Cayenne S now features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 468 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, representing a significant improvement of 34 horses and 37 pound-feet compared to the V6. With the Sport Chrono Package, the Cayenne S will reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 169 mph. Finally, the Cayenne Turbo GT has an extra 19 horsepower, for a total of 650, and likely the same 626 pound-feet of torque. According to Porsche, this model can hit 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 189 mph. The Turbo GT also has an optional weight reduction package that removes 72 pounds.

The GTS, Turbo and Turbo E-Hybrid models have yet to be announced. As per Porsche’s tradition of significant model updates, they will likely appear in around a year’s time.

All Cayenne models come standard with steel spring suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management for adjustability and 20-inch wheels. Air suspension is available and standard on the Turbo GT, which also has ceramic brakes, rear steering, a sport exhaust, and 22-inch wheels. Porsche has also included some new standard features, such as LED headlights, lane-keep assist, proximity key for locking and unlocking, and wireless phone charging.

With so many enhancements in performance and features, it’s no surprise that the Cayenne is more expensive than its predecessor. The 2024 base model starts at $80,850, $7,200 more than the previous version. Prices for the entire lineup are listed below.
