2024 Nissan Frontier Revealed With Retro Hardbody Edition Package

In the realm of pickup trucks, Nissan is taking a step back in time with the 2024 Nissan Frontier Hardbody Edition. This addition to the Frontier lineup pays homage to the iconic Nissan Hardbody of the 1980s, blending vintage aesthetics with modern engineering.

The 2024 Frontier Hardbody Edition is based on the Crew Cab SV 4×4 model. It features retro-inspired design elements like 17-inch alloy wheels reminiscent of the original Hardbody, along with all-terrain tires for off-road capability. Additional rugged touches include an aluminum skid plate, black over-fenders, a black side rail, mud flaps, and a bed-mounted bar.

The truck’s exterior is unified with black-painted bumpers, mirrors, door handles, and grille. It sports black graphics, including a “4×4” logo on the front doors and a tailgate graphic with a cut-out “Nissan” logo, replacing the typical emblem.

For added comfort and convenience, the 2024 Frontier introduces an SL grade, replacing the SV Premium Package. This grade includes premium features like LED headlights, fog lights, daytime running lights, leather-appointed seating, heated front seats, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Practicality is enhanced with 120-volt power outlets in the bed and rear center console, a power tilt and slide sunroof, spray-in bedliner, Utili-Track System with adjustable tie-down cleats, remote engine start, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Under the hood, the truck retains its 310-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. It offers a towing capacity of up to 6,640 pounds and an electronic, shift-on-the-fly system for various drive modes. Safety is a focus, with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection now standard on all grades.

The 2024 Nissan Frontier, including the Hardbody Edition and SL grade, starts at $29,770.

Nissan introduced the current Frontier for the 2022 model year, after a lengthy 17-year run of the previous model. Production of the current truck is expected to continue until 2029, with an all-new successor, potentially electric, anticipated in 2030. This transition reflects Nissan’s commitment to innovation in the pickup truck segment.
