2024 Ferrari Purosangue SUV Review

It is truly remarkable to witness the production of a Ferrari SUV, the 2024 Purosangue, given the brand’s long-standing reputation for creating high-performance sports cars. Despite initial resistance to the idea, the company finally succumbed to the unrelenting pressure of the market, and this SUV proudly bears the iconic prancing horse badge on its grille. However, rest assured that this move does not detract from the brand’s excellence. On the contrary, similar endeavors have proven highly successful for other sports car companies, such as Porsche and Lamborghini.

To all those purists who may doubt the Purosangue’s credibility as a true Ferrari, we proudly present its naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 engine, which lies stealthily under its hood. This engine, which boasts the brand’s signature red-painted valve colors, is the epitome of Ferrari’s power and style, producing an impressive 715 horsepower and 528 pound-feet of torque. With such immense power, we estimate that the Purosangue will be capable of achieving 0-60 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds, and a top speed of 193 mph.

Of course, such incredible power comes with a cost. The Purosangue is one of Ferrari’s least fuel-efficient vehicles, with an EPA rating of just 12 mpg in the city and 16 mpg on the highway. However, it’s important to note that both the Urus and the 12-cylinder Bentayga, which share similar ratings of 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, suffer from similar drawbacks.

What truly sets the Purosangue apart from its Ferrari brethren is its practicality. As the only Ferrari with enough room for four passengers, it features a unique set of rear-hinged coach-style doors, which maintain a sleek two-door appearance while also making it easier to access the back seat. Inside, both the front and rear seats are individual buckets, with a center console in each row. The interior is, of course, finished with Ferrari’s signature high-quality materials.
