2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R Revealed

Chevrolet has unveiled its first ever racecar built to FIA technical regulations for GT3 vehicles – the Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Based on the Corvette Z06, the GT3.R uses the same 5.5-liter LT6 V8 engine, which shares over 70% of its parts with the production Z06 engine. It is constructed on the same assembly line as road-going models. The aluminum chassis frame is built in Bowling Green and then sent to Michigan where a steel roll cage is added. The GT3.R features a double-wishbone front and rear suspension, uprated brakes, and 18-inch wheels. Improved aerodynamics come from a carbon fiber diffuser and wing design, as well as front carbon fiber splitters and air ducts for cooling. The GT3.R has a side-impact structure between the door and roll cage and will be track tested this year with customer deliveries starting in Q3 2023. The GT3.R will make its competition debut at the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona and compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA WEC. Chevrolet and Corvette Racing will offer a customer support program for teams racing the GT3.R.
