The new 2024 BMW X5 and X6 models have been given a technological overhaul, with digital technology playing a major role in the interior upgrades. The integration of BMW Operating System 8 and the latest iDrive control system has led to the introduction of the BMW Curved Display, which consists of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch control display that’s located behind a single glass surface. The touch control functionality has replaced many buttons and switches with digital controls for various functions. This innovative cockpit and modern instrument panel give a truly progressive feel to the premium ambience.
The standard specification for both models now includes a leather-like Sensafin instrument panel and a fine wood trim element that curves elegantly. The new ambient light bar with LED backlighting below the trim element in the front passenger area is another standout feature. The “X5” or “X6” model lettering is displayed on the light bar, with the M logo displayed on the two flagship models. The center console control panel also includes touch-sensitive surfaces and a newly designed gear selector lever.
For added comfort, the driver and front passenger seats can be upgraded to comfort seats instead of the standard sport seats with Sensafin surfaces. Other options include BMW Individual Merino extended leather upholstery, BMW Individual full Merino leather upholstery, active seat ventilation, and a massage function.
Other highlights on the options list include the Comfort Package with panel heating and a “thermo” function for the cup holders, the Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof with LED lighting, glass applications for selected controls, the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, and the newly designed Travel & Comfort System.
