2023 Easter Jeep Safari Scrambler 392 Concept

Back in 1981, the Jeep brand unleashed its inaugural convertible compact truck, the Jeep Scrambler (CJ-8), which boasted of its exceptional versatility and impressive capabilities. Sharing some similarities with the CJ-7, the Scrambler stood out due to its elongated 103-inch wheelbase and a lengthy rear overhang that significantly enhanced the truck’s storage capacity.

Fast forward 40 years, the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept takes inspiration from the original CJ-8 and adds an extra touch of power to the mix. Unlike the CJ-8, which never featured a V-8 engine, the 392 Scrambler concept runs on an incredibly powerful 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 engine that boasts an impressive 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the vehicle a significant edge on the road.

Constructed from a four-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept boasts a lightweight body that allows for exceptional off-road performance, thanks to its custom carbon-fiber bodywork. This unique design features a two-door aesthetic with an open-air personality, highlighted by the laid-back windshield that matches the lower roof, with its modified silhouette reminiscent of chopped top hotrods.

The Jeep Scrambler 392 concept’s AccuAir air suspension kit is another exciting addition, offering an adjustable suspension lift ranging from 1.5 inches to 5.5 inches, allowing for custom adjustment on the fly with an in-cab controller or through long-range Bluetooth on a wireless device.

The vehicle’s sculptural rear quarter panel is designed to emphasize the door aperture and includes wider rear flares, with updated bodywork featuring a new front fender flare and a new carbon-fiber hood. The hood features a tinted clear insert that highlights the beastly 392-cubic-inch engine at the heart of the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept. Custom front and rear lightweight bumpers, alongside the new fender flares, provide added clearance for a larger tire and wheel combo.

Sitting on custom 20-inch rims with 40-inch tires, the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept features tow hooks and rims that are finished in Brass Monkey paint, similar to today’s stock Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. The exterior of the vehicle is painted in Sublime green, with custom seats featuring plaid blue inserts and green stitching, completing the vehicle’s interior design.

In conclusion, the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept is a unique and powerful off-road vehicle that pays tribute to the CJ-8 while taking things to the next level with its powerful HEMI® V-8 engine, custom carbon-fiber bodywork, and adjustable air suspension kit, making it a force to be reckoned with both on and off the road.
