Update: Mercedes Won’t Bring Back The V8 For AMG C63 and E63

There’s a lot of talk about whether the C 63 and E 63 car models will get the V8 engine back by 2026. Car & Driver said they might. But Germany’s Auto Motor Und Sport says it’s not true. They even said someone from Mercedes-AMG told them it was just a silly rumor. So, these cars might continue to have smaller, eco-friendly engines.

It’s best to wait and see what Mercedes-AMG officially says. Some car fans really hope the C 63 and E 63 will get the V8 engine back. But even if this engine can meet strict European environment rules, it could make the cars too pricey. People might choose other cars like the BMW M3 and M5 instead.

Currently the Mercedes-AMG’s new C 63 S E Performance is super powerful. It has a combined 670 horsepower from its engine and electric motor, which uses a 6.1 kilowatt hour battery. It accelerate from 0 to sixty-two miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds and can reach up to 174 mph.

There’s also talk about the upcoming E 63. It might have a 3.0-liter engine with help from an electric motor using a 4.8 kilowatt hour battery. Rumors suggest it could have more than 700 horsepower compared with the older version of this car that has 603 horsepower and could hit 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, going up to 186 mph if you pick the right options.
