Tesla Introduces Model 3 and Model Y Color Wraps

Tesla has introduced an exciting new option for Model 3 and Model Y owners: premium color wraps. These wraps, which can be purchased through Tesla’s online store and smartphone app, offer a convenient way to change your vehicle’s color without the hassle of a full repaint.

What makes these wraps stand out is their construction from a cutting-edge self-healing urethane-based film. Not only do they give your car a fresh look, but they also act as a protective shield, guarding against chips, scratches, and swirl marks that can mar your car’s finish. Think of it as a suit of armor for your car’s exterior.

What sets these wraps apart from typical vinyl wraps is their durability. While most vinyl wraps are thinner and more affordable, Tesla’s premium color wraps are thicker and built to last. They offer robust protection that matches their premium price tag.

You have a choice of seven captivating colors to suit your style: Satin Ceramic White, Slip Grey, Satin Stealth Black, Satin Rose Gold, Glacier Blue, Forest Green, and Crimson Red. However, pricing has a twist. The first three colors, Satin Ceramic White, Slip Grey, and Satin Stealth Black, come in at $7,500 each. The remaining four, Glacier Blue, Forest Green, Crimson Red, and Satin Rose Gold, are priced at $8,000 each.

When you decide to go for a color change, Tesla includes the cost of both materials and installation. But here’s the catch: the installation happens at Tesla Service Centers, not at the factory. Currently, this service is available at just two locations, both in Southern California – West Covina and Carlsbad. Keep in mind that installation may take five to seven business days, and no loaner vehicle is provided during this period.

If you prefer to maintain your car’s original color but want extra protection, Tesla offers an alternative. For $5,000, you can opt for a clear wrap, available in glossy or satin finishes. This transparent wrap safeguards your car’s factory paint while allowing its original color to shine through. Note that the clear wrap doesn’t cover the door jambs like the color wraps do.

These premium color wraps are exclusively available for 2023 or newer Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. You’ll also need the Tesla app version 4.23.0 or newer to purchase them via your smartphone.

As a side note, keep an eye out for developments with the Tesla Cybertruck. Recent sightings of the Cybertruck with various wraps during testing suggest that color wraps might become optional extras for this highly anticipated pickup truck, especially since painting the Cybertruck’s stainless steel body isn’t an option.

In summary, Tesla’s new premium color wraps offer a creative and protective way for Model 3 and Model Y owners to personalize their vehicles. These wraps bring a burst of color and provide a robust defense against everyday wear and tear. While the price may seem steep, the quality materials and installation make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a fresh look for their Tesla. If you have a 2023 or newer Model 3 or Model Y and want to add some color to your life, Tesla has you covered.
