Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport Exhaust Sound

Rennsport Reunion 7, happening right now in sunny California, is Porsche’s big celebration of its racing history. Among all the exciting stuff going on, Porsche has introduced a special car – the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport. But this car is quite different from the usual street-legal and GT3 competition cars we know.

Let’s start by talking about the name. Porsche calls this car the 911 GT3 R rennsport, with a small ‘r,’ which is quite different from the usual big and bold letters they use. Underneath its huge rear wing, which needs extra support to handle its downforce, there’s a 4.2-liter flat-six engine. This engine, borrowed from the GT3 race car, pumps out an impressive 611 horsepower. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t have to follow the same rules as GT3-class cars, so it has more freedom. They’ve tuned the engine to run on E25 fuel and given it special pistons and camshafts. With a higher compression ratio, it’s going to make a really cool sound when it revs up to 9,400 RPM.

If you look at the pictures, you can see that the GT3 R rennsport looks pretty unique. Porsche decided to leave a lot of the mechanical stuff uncovered to save weight. That means you can see things like the exhaust system, which can be set up to be super loud or quieter to follow track noise rules. The power goes to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox, which is a modified version of what’s in the GT3 R.

Now, let’s check out the wheels. The GT3 R rennsport has special 18-inch rims from BBS, and they’re wrapped in Michelin tires made just for this car. The chassis and suspension come straight from the racing GT3, but Porsche has made some changes to set it up just right at the factory.

But what really catches your eye is the car’s body. Porsche says that only the hood and roof are the same as the GT3 R. The front of the car is inspired by the racetrack, with cool vents, panels, and fins. Instead of regular mirrors, they use cameras that show you the view inside the car. And the rear wing is designed to remind you of the iconic 935/77, which makes the 911 GT3 R rennsport feel like a modern version of the 935.

Porsche has big plans for this car. They see it not just as a high-performance machine but also as something collectors will want. If you’re thinking about getting one, you can choose from seven colors and three exterior designs.

But, here’s the thing – if you want to add this limited-edition 911 to your collection, you’ll need to act fast and be ready to spend a lot. Porsche is only making 77 of the GT3 R rennsport, and the starting price is a hefty $1,046,000.
