Nissan is all set to bring a dose of motorsports excitement to the upcoming 2023 SEMA show. They’re rolling out some exciting concept vehicles that will make their debut at the aftermarket and customization expo, occupying a prime spot in the Nissan booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 31st.

Let’s dive into the first of these thrilling concepts: the Nissan Sentra DET. Now, this concept draws its inspiration from the race cars that take part in the Sentra Cup, a racing championship held exclusively for the Sentra model up in Canada. They’re even planning to expand to the United States in 2024.

The “DET” in its name stands for “Dual overhead cam, Electronic Fuel Injection, Turbo,” giving us a sneak peek under the hood. What we find there is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, matched with a slick six-speed manual transmission. To amp up the performance, Nissan has thrown in a bunch of enhancements, including a spanking new Garrett intercooler and turbocharger, a DeatschWerks in-tank fuel pump, a fancy AFCO radiator, a McLeod lightweight flywheel clutch kit, and some Manley pistons.

While they haven’t spilled the beans on exact power figures, Nissan has also treated this sedan to a limited-slip differential and some upgraded brakes sourced from the Nissan Z. And for a touch of racing comfort, they’ve decked out the front with Recaro bucket seats.

Now, as far as rolling stock goes, the DET rides on some sharp 18×8.5-inch Nismo wheels wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 tires measuring 245/40/18. And last but not least, to make sure that turbocharged engine roars with style, there’s a prototype Nismo cat-back exhaust system, giving it a more distinctive soundtrack.
