New Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid 2024 REVEAL & Presentation

Emerging from the production line cloaked in the name of Urban Cruiser Icon, the Yaris Cross SUV has shed its initial moniker to reveal its true identity. Toyota, the renowned Japanese automaker, has decided to premier this vehicular marvel in Indonesia, ahead of its rollout in other territories. This iteration, however, is distinct from the Yaris Cross SUV available in European markets and elsewhere, with a primary focus on the ASEAN countries.

This automotive creation’s dimensions are worth noting. Stretching out to a length of 4310mm, the Yaris Cross SUV nudges ahead of the Hyundai Creta, its key competitor in certain territories such as Indonesia. Furthermore, the wheelbase, a critical aspect determining stability and interior space, clocks in at an impressive 2620mm, outstripping the Creta by a modest but significant 10mm. Thus, in terms of both size and category, the Yaris Cross stands a tier above the Toyota Raize.

Now, let’s plunge beneath the hood to explore the heart and soul of this SUV: its engines.

The gasoline option houses a 4-cylinder 2NR VE powerhouse with a displacement of 1.5-litres, which churns out a commendable 104 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque.

Alternatively, those with an eye for sustainability may opt for the petrol-hybrid variant. This version is propelled by a 2NR-VEX engine that generates a modest 80hp and 141Nm. Complementing this, the electric motor adds a punch with its 90hp and 121Nm output.

The particulars mentioned above are courtesy of Toyota, the automaker that continues to innovate and impress with every new vehicle they launch.
