New 2024 Mercedes CLE Coupe AMG Line Revealed

In terms of powertrain choices, the CLE takes a different path compared to the new C-Class, which exclusively opts for four-cylinder engines. Rather than conforming, the CLE presents a six-cylinder powertrain to cater to those who crave heightened performance. The CLE 450 4Matic proudly showcases a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine, accompanied by an integrated starter generator. This specific setup delivers an astounding pinnacle of 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Moreover, the CLE integrates an overhauled all-wheel-drive mechanism and a nine-speed automatic transmission, both contributing to a reduction in weight when compared to the equivalent components found in the C-Class Coupe.

For customers residing in the United States, a base four-cylinder model will also be available. The CLE 300 4Matic comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine, which also serves as a mild hybrid, granting 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This particular variation shares the same nine-speed automatic transmission and the company’s exclusive 4Matic system. While comprehensive performance specifications for the US models are yet to be disclosed, it is essential to take note that the maximum speed will be electronically limited to 130 miles per hour.
