At EICMA 2023, MV Agusta made a significant impact with the unveiling of their new LXP Orioli adventure motorcycle. This model, limited to just 500 units worldwide, is a tribute to Edi Orioli, a renowned rally legend. The LXP Orioli is not only a testament to Orioli’s legacy but also marks MV Agusta’s foray into the adventure touring segment.

The motorcycle is powered by a newly developed 931cc three-cylinder engine, designed and manufactured entirely in Varese, Italy. This engine stands out for its lightweight design, weighing only 57 kg, which is about 10% lighter than its direct competition. It delivers 124 hp at 10,000 rpm and 102 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, with 85% of the torque available from as low as 3,000 rpm1. The engine also features several high-end components and technologies typically found in sports bikes, such as DLC-coated cams, a counter-rotating crankshaft for improved cornering stability, and a hydraulic clutch for smooth operation even under extreme conditions.

In terms of suspension, the LXP Orioli is equipped with fully-adjustable Sachs components, including USD forks and a progressive link monoshock, offering significant travel and ground clearance. This, combined with the bike’s 21″/18″ spoked, tubeless rims wrapped in Bridgestone Battlax AX41 tires, ensures that the bike is well-suited for a variety of terrains.

The LXP Orioli is also notable for its advanced electronics, including a 6-axis inertial platform, multiple ride modes (Urban, Touring, Off-Road, and Custom), traction control with various levels of intervention, and a sophisticated Cornering ABS system that includes Rear Wheel Lift-Up Mitigation and other off-road specific functions. The electronic features are accessible through a 7-inch color TFT display, complemented by the MV Agusta Ride App for navigation and a Mobisat geolocation anti-theft system.

Staying true to its luxury status, each unit of the LXP Orioli will be personally signed by Edi Orioli, and the bike comes with a kit that includes a homologated titanium exhaust co-designed with Termignoni, featuring a carbon fiber end cap and heat shield. This not only enhances the bike’s performance but also reduces its weight by over 4 kg.
