Lamborghini Revuelto Development Supercar of the Future

On the 29th of March, Automobili Lamborghini revealed their latest innovation, the Revuelto—a groundbreaking super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). This exhilarating endeavor in both research and design has been led by Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr and Head of Design Mitja Borkert. To provide an in-depth look into the project’s genesis, a series of three mini-documentaries has been planned.

Mohr elucidated on the project’s primary challenge, stating, “It was essential to imbue Lamborghini’s essence into the electrified realm.” The Revuelto achieves more than just an increase in power and a reduction in emissions; it represents a comprehensive enhancement in performance. The vehicle heralds a new era for Lamborghini, as it features a radically altered architecture, an electric four-wheel drive system, a novel carbon fiber monocoque, and a never-before-heard auditory experience.

Borkert, discussing the design process, expounds, “Every facet we craft for a Lamborghini must embody high-performance.” Maintaining the iconic Lamborghini silhouette and the cabin’s distinct inclination was a key parameter, with all lines accentuating the cabin and simultaneously celebrating the exposed V12 engine. From the inception of the Revuelto, the mission was to create an unmistakable Lamborghini that would define the coming decade.

As it stands, the Revuelto is not yet available for purchase and is not subject to Directive 1999/94/EC. The vehicle’s fuel consumption and emissions data are currently in the approval process stage.
