The same engines from the sedan version of the G70 carry over to the Shooting Brake. Just like before, European models will get the 2.2-liter e-VGT turbo-diesel with 199 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four and 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 are now being phased out, in favor of a new 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6. The new 2.5-liter turbo-four can already be found in the Hyundai Sonata N-Line. In the G70 Shooting Brake, it is expected to make the same 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, on the other hand, succeeds the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 and makes 380 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. It’s too early to talk about an EV version of the car, although given the direction carmakers (including Genesis) are headed, it’s only a matter of time.
