Koenigsegg Introduces the Client Specified Gemera Unleashing 2300HP

Koenigsegg’s Gripen Atelier has become the epicenter of innovation, spanning an impressive 11,000 square meters. This vast space is dedicated to the development, design, production, offices, and showroom for the renowned Gemera lineup and future models. With the addition of the Gripen Atelier, Koenigsegg’s facilities now encompass a grand total of 30,000 square meters. This expansion empowers Koenigsegg to efficiently nurture and advance the Gemera program in tandem with their two-seater lineup.

Christian von Koenigsegg, the visionary founder and CEO, expresses his excitement, “We are thrilled to inaugurate the Gripen Atelier and announce the launch of the Client Specification Gemera, a truly groundbreaking Megacar. Boasting numerous exciting updates and enhancements over the pre-series versions, the Client Specification Gemera sets new benchmarks for the industry.”

Already a marvel of engineering as the world’s first 4-seater Megacar, distinguished by its awe-inspiring power exceeding 1 megawatt, the Gemera has now reached even greater heights with the Client Specification edition, incorporating pioneering advancements.

Initially, the plan was to integrate the Koenigsegg Direct Drive system into the Gemera, which had been showcased in the 2020 Gemera show car and implemented in the first running prototypes. This ingenious and one-of-a-kind solution, successfully employed in the Regera program, delivered an ideal fusion of efficiency, power, and drivability.

In addition to the engine and the LSTT, Koenigsegg’s research and development team has also crafted the “Dark Matter” E-motor, an 800 hp, 1250 Nm patent-pending Raxial Flux E-motor that represents a monumental leap in electric propulsion. It stands as the world’s most powerful automotive-grade E-motor with 6-phase technology. Now, instead of the Direct Drive system’s 3 Quarks E-motors, one Dark Matter E-motor is paired with the LSTT, rendering the drivetrain lighter, smaller, and even more engaging. The LSTT four-wheel drive system equipped with four-wheel torque vectoring can be powered by the 800 hp Dark Matter E-motor, the twin-turbo TFG, or a combination of both, resulting in a maximum output of 1400 hp and 1850 Nm.

The Client Specification Gemera not only retains its inherent qualities but also incorporates the lightness and responsiveness of the LST in the form of the LSTT. Christian von Koenigsegg adds, “We added ‘Tourbillon’ to the name of the LST, as this mechanism represents the automotive equivalent of a high-end Swiss watch and is simply beautiful.”

Designing a transmission that accommodates four seats, a mid-engine position, electric propulsion, while still providing nine gears, torque vectoring, and four-wheel drive at a reduced weight was an arduous task that demanded immense creativity and innovation.

But there’s even more exhilarating news—the Koenigsegg Gemera HV8 (Hot V8) version. The HV8 takes the Gemera to unprecedented heights, surpassing any Hypercar or Megacar, pushing boundaries to the next level. Initially, fitting a mid-engined V8 configuration into the Gemera seemed impossible due to the spacious occupant area in relation to the Gemera’s compact size.

However, the layout of the LSTT made it possible. To achieve this feat, the Jesko V8 was transformed into a so-called Hot V8, with the exhaust exiting at the top center while remaining similar to the Jesko engine in most aspects.

The fusion of the magnificent sound, responsiveness, and power of the Jesko V8 with the audacious engineering of the Gemera gives birth to an entirely new breed.

With this innovative engine configuration, the Gemera proudly showcases a staggering 1500 hp from the HV8 in addition to the 800 hp delivered by the Dark Matter E-motor, culminating in a remarkable total of 2,300 hp and 2,750 Nm of torque – a new world record for a production car.

“The Gemera HV8 is not only the most powerful and extreme production car on the planet Earth, with an astonishing 1,111 hp per kg, but it is also the most practical and user-friendly sports car ever created. Its incredible response, handling, engine sound, crisp transmission, spacious interior, and four-wheel-drive systems combine to create an unprecedented and unparalleled driving experience, ready to set numerous records of performance around tracks and in straight lines. We are extremely proud to have brought the Gemera HV8 to life and very much look forward to delivering this new level of performance and technology to our esteemed clients and fans,” declares Christian.

Production of the Gemera is set to commence at the Gripen Atelier by the end of 2024, with customer deliveries scheduled for the early part of 2025.
