GAC’s unveiling of the ERA Concept car marks a significant milestone in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, showcasing China’s leadership in automotive innovation. This revolutionary car was developed through the collaborative efforts of GAC’s global teams, including those in Los Angeles and Milan, underlining the company’s commitment to innovation and exploration.

Fan Zhang, Vice President of GAC R&D Center, highlighted the ERA Concept car as a symbol of technological advancement and design innovation. It’s not just a vehicle but a visionary statement about the future of NEV design, reflecting the collaborative efforts of global talent.

Despite logistical challenges, Pontus Fontaeus, Director of GAC Advanced Design Los Angeles, praised the international team’s successful collaboration, which brought the ERA Concept from concept to reality. The car integrates a multi-energy platform architecture, featuring hydrogen fuel cells and powerful distributed motors, resulting in 540 horsepower, an 800-kilometer range, and zero emissions.

The ERA Concept car combines luxury and performance in a full-size 4WD crossover SUV format. Its innovative design includes a front fascia with integrated headlights, sensors, and cameras, and a body made from environmentally friendly materials like marine recycled plastic and seaweed bio-based materials.

The interior of the ERA Concept car showcases a human-centered design with premium materials and an inviting color scheme. The seating is versatile, with the front seats able to rotate towards the back, facilitating interaction. Additional features include a convertible central console, a rear armrest that turns into a tea table, and seating that supports various configurations for socializing and comfort.

Stéphane Janin, Director of GAC Advanced Design Milan, describes the ERA Concept Car as a harmonious blend of power, elegance, and clean technology. Looking ahead, GAC aims to continue innovating in technology and design, offering diverse, eco-friendly, and exciting mobility solutions.
