Euro NCAP, the safety organization, has announced the winners of its 2022 awards. These awards are given to cars that achieve the highest overall scores in Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable User Protection and Safety Assist technologies. This year’s list includes a first-time appearance by two cars from Tesla and two Chinese newcomers to the European market. The winners are: the Hyundai IONIQ 6 in the Large Family Car category, the ORA Funky Cat in the Small Family Car category, the Tesla Model S in the Executive Car category, the Tesla Model Y in the Small Off-Roader category, and the WEY Coffee 01 in the Large Off-Roader category. These results demonstrate the significance of the Euro NCAP five-star rating for establishing safety, credibility, and quality in the European market for vehicle manufacturers, both in Europe and beyond.
