Honda has temporarily halted orders for the 2023 Civic Type R in Japan due to high demand and supply chain issues. The company announced the decision on the Japanese-market page for the Civic Type “R”, but it does not affect the U.S. market. In Japan, orders for the Civic Type R are submitted directly through Honda Motor or a dealership, while in the U.S. production is allocated to dealers and then sold to consumers. The Civic Type R starts at 4,997,300 yen ($38,896 at current exchange rates) in Japan and $43,990 in the United States. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque and comes with a six-speed manual transmission as the only gearbox option.
