This month, spy photographers have successfully captured images of the forthcoming next-generation Patrol during its testing phase. These exclusive photographs have allowed our colleagues at Kolesa to create a series of renderings that offer insights into the potential appearance of the new SUV.
While the prototypes remain concealed beneath camouflage film, several notable details have emerged. At the forefront, a notably larger radiator grille is poised to make an appearance, complemented by innovative lighting elements that may adopt a “two-story” configuration, featuring LED running lights in a horizontal strip, potentially spanning the entire width of the front section. Positioned just below these running lights, the primary headlight units are seamlessly integrated into the bumper. The forthcoming Patrol shares familial design elements with Infiniti’s upcoming flagship SUV, as showcased in the QX Monograph concept presented a couple of months ago. In contrast, Nissan will retain conventional door handles for a more ergonomic grip. It is highly likely that the Infinity Patrol variant will feature continuous side glazing that seamlessly extends into the rear window, with vertical block-shaped lights and a decorative insert, possibly incorporating an embedded LED strip.
Under the hood, the new generation Nissan Patrol will undergo a significant transformation, bidding farewell to its V8 engine in favor of a V6 petrol twin-turbo powerplant generating 430 horsepower. This marks a departure from the current model’s naturally aspirated 5.6-liter V8, which produces 405 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Recent developments also suggest that the latest iteration of Nissan’s flagship SUV, known as the Armada in the American market, has been showcased to local dealers. These events indicate that the public debut of the model may be just around the corner, potentially unfolding in the forthcoming months.
