2024 Skoda Scala Facelift Revealed

Skoda, the renowned automobile manufacturer, has taken the wraps off the updated Scala and Kamiq models, bringing a host of exciting changes both inside and out. The mid-cycle facelift promises to elevate the driving experience for its loyal customers.

The most noticeable changes are on the exterior, where both the Scala and Kamiq have received redesigned headlights featuring optional matrix LED technology, enhancing visibility and style. The grilles and taillights have also been tweaked, giving the vehicles a fresh and modern look. The high-riding Kamiq now boasts elegant L-shaped reflectors, adding to its appeal. Sportier aprons inspired by the Vision RS concept add a touch of athleticism to the Scala.

The wheel catalog has also been refreshed, introducing new designs with some now equipped with aero inserts, improving aerodynamics. Customers can choose alloy wheels up to 18 inches in size, available with silver or black accents. The Scala offers nine exterior colors, including the exclusive Steel Grey, while the Kamiq comes with nine paint options, including the striking Phoenix Orange, plus a two-tone finish with black A-pillars, side mirror caps, and roof.

Inside the cabin, Skoda has made notable improvements to enhance user-friendliness. The cars fitted with automatic climate control now feature a revised panel, described as more intuitive than before, making the driving experience even more enjoyable. Skoda’s commitment to sustainability is evident with the increased use of recycled materials for the upholstery, mats, and flooring. In a remarkable move, renewable materials like hemp and kenaf are employed for the door cards and a section of the headliner. The range-topping Monte Carlo models come with adjustable LED ambient lighting and sporty integrated headrests for the front seats, providing ultimate comfort and support.

Under the hood, Skoda has bid farewell to TDI powertrains, and the updated Scala and Kamiq now exclusively offer TSI evo2 engines, complying with stricter emissions regulations in the European Union. Customers can choose between a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI engine, delivering 95 hp, or a more powerful variant with 115 hp, paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG). For those seeking more power, the four-cylinder 1.5 TSI with 150 hp is available with the same M6 and DSG7 gearbox choices. Moreover, the larger engine is equipped with cylinder deactivation technology, intelligently saving fuel by turning off two cylinders when their power is not required.

Skoda offers different suspension options to cater to various driving preferences. The Scala features a rough road suspension, raising ground clearance by 15 millimeters, while both cars can be equipped with a sportier suspension. The sporty setup lowers the Kamiq by 10 mm and brings the hatchback closer to the road by 15 mm.

The updated Scala and Kamiq also boast impressive technology upgrades. The vehicles now come with an eight-inch driver’s display as standard, but customers can opt for a larger 10.25-inch setup for an immersive experience. Additionally, the infotainment system offers different screen sizes and features, including standard USB-C ports, with an optional extra port for dashcam connectivity.

Skoda’s Simply Clever philosophy continues to shine through, as the updated Scala and Kamiq incorporate new features inspired by other successful models. Smartphone pockets on the backs of the front seats and a removable box on the central tunnel’s hump are just some of the intelligent and practical solutions offered in the vehicles.

In terms of safety, the Scala and Kamiq are well-equipped with up to nine airbags and Crew Protect, a feature that automatically closes all windows and tightens the front seat belts in the event of an imminent collision.

Skoda is updating the trim structure, offering Essence, Selection, and Monte Carlo grades, along with six design variants and multiple equipment packages, allowing customers to personalize their Scala and Kamiq to suit their preferences and style.

With these exciting updates, Skoda continues to solidify its position as a leading automaker, providing innovative, stylish, and eco-friendly vehicles that redefine the driving experience. The Scala and Kamiq are ready to take you on an unforgettable journey, whether you seek urban agility or versatile adventure.
