2024 Porsche Cayenne S E Hybrid Coupe

Porsche is reviving the S E-Hybrid nameplate for the 2024 Porsche Cayenne, marking its return since it took a break after the 2018 model year. This Cayenne S E-Hybrid model boasts 512 horsepower, placing it between the 463-hp Cayenne E-Hybrid and the 729-hp Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid in the lineup of gasoline-electric versions of the SUV.

Now, you can get the S E-Hybrid in two body styles: the classic wagon and the sportier fastback (or, in Porsche-speak, the coupe). It shares its 348-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine with the base Cayenne, paired with a 174-hp electric motor. This combination delivers enough power to accelerate the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, according to Porsche.

As for the battery, the S E-Hybrid, like the rest of the Cayenne E-Hybrid lineup, packs a 25.9-kWh (gross capacity) battery pack. Charging it is a breeze with an 11.0-kW charger, which can fully replenish the battery in just two and a half hours when plugged into a 240-volt outlet. While Porsche hasn’t spilled the beans on the exact electric-only driving range, we expect it to easily exceed 20 miles when tested by the EPA.

Now, let’s talk dollars and cents. The starting price for the S E-Hybrid wagon is $100,750, which is $7,400 more than the E-Hybrid. This extra cost comes with some perks, like 20-inch wheels and tires, quad tailpipes, LED headlights featuring automatic high beams, the Sport Chrono package with its handy steering-wheel-mounted drive mode switch, and a proximity key with a pushbutton start.

If you prefer the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe, be prepared to shell out an additional $4,900 over the base price. In addition to its sleeker design, the fastback S E-Hybrid ditches the wagon’s silver exterior accents for black trim pieces.

Both body styles of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid are expected to hit dealerships in early 2024.
