2024 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid in Crayon

The eagerly awaited 2024 Porsche Cayenne and its Cayenne Coupe counterpart have at last been unveiled after a thorough promotional effort. These revamped models boast a refreshed exterior, a reinvented dashboard, and substantial powertrain upgrades. They’re now available for purchase in the United States, with deliveries starting this summer, and the official reveal is slated for the esteemed Auto Shanghai show.

Kicking off with the base Cayenne, the vehicle keeps its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, now producing a remarkable 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque—an increase of 13 hp and 36 lb-ft compared to its predecessor. The Cayenne E-Hybrid has seen improvements as well, featuring a turbocharged V6 combined with a stronger electric motor, delivering a total output of 463 hp—an 8-hp boost. The battery capacity has also grown, reaching 25.9 kWh, up from the previous 17.9 kWh. An 11-kilowatt AC charger is included, capable of charging the battery in less than two and a half hours, offering unprecedented convenience.

Transitioning to the Cayenne S, this model now houses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, replacing the former V6 engine. This mighty eight-cylinder engine generates a whopping 468 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque, reflecting a significant increase of 34 hp and 37 lb-ft over the previous model. When fitted with the optional Sport Chrono Package, both the standard and Coupe versions can accelerate to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 169 mph.

The range-topping Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT showcases a 650-hp iteration of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, marking a 19 hp enhancement. This powerhouse can achieve 60 mph in a mere 3.1 seconds and attain a maximum speed of 189 mph. The Turbo GT comes standard with high-performance features like rear-wheel steering, air suspension, ceramic-composite brakes, and titanium exhaust pipes.

The Cayenne, S, and E-Hybrid models now offer new two-valve shocks with individual rebound and compression stages. Porsche Active Suspension Management is standard, delivering improved pitch-and-roll control as asserted by the manufacturer. The Turbo GT has an optional air suspension system providing clearer differentiation between Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus driving modes.

Aesthetically, the 2024 Cayenne incorporates subtle improvements while preserving its iconic design. Matrix Design LED headlights come standard, featuring a slightly sharper shape. A new hood and recontoured fenders join redesigned taillights, which maintain consistent height across the rear. Additionally, three new colors debut: Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey.

The Cayenne Coupe also presents an optional Lightweight Sport Package, shaving off 72 pounds from the vehicle’s weight. Details of this package remain undisclosed.

The 2024 Cayenne’s dashboard is entirely reimagined. A curved 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster now faces drivers, and steering wheel controls enable effortless display mode changes. A new stalk to the left of the wheel governs driver assistance systems, with standard lane change and lane keep assists.

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne showcases numerous exciting updates, such as a restructured center stack housing a 12.3-inch infotainment display, with the gearshift now situated between the screens. The stylish console combines switches and capacitive buttons for HVAC controls, creating a modern, sophisticated appearance.

The most groundbreaking feature, however, is the optional 10.9-inch screen on the passenger side of the dashboard. This cutting-edge addition allows passengers to effortlessly control the navigation system or even stream videos.
