2024 Peugeot 2008 Facelift Debuts

In the midst of its cycle, the model undergoes a transformation that aligns it with the contemporary visual identity first seen in the 508 earlier this year. The bumper’s lustrous black inserts now house the triple vertical lights that resemble a claw. The GT trim, the range’s pinnacle, takes this unique look further by integrating it into the full-LED headlights.

At the rear, Peugeot has made subtle adjustments to the LED taillights, enhancing the “triple claw” theme with three overlapping horizontal dual slats. Notably, LED technology also graces the turn signals and reverse lights. Additionally, the exterior boasts 16- to 18-inch wheels inspired by the 408’s offerings. Launching in Selenium Grey, the GT trim features a two-tone paint job with a standard black roof. All 2008 models will don black side mirror caps, regardless of color choice.

Inside, every 2024 Peugeot 2008 will feature a 10-inch touchscreen, a departure from the pre-facelift model which saw smaller, seven-inch displays in its first two trims. The Allure and GT trims will now showcase a redesigned 10-inch digital instrument cluster, with the GT trim adding a 3D effect. Opting for the base Active model means retaining traditional analog dials. Manual gearbox-equipped versions also sport a revamped shift knob.

Under the refreshed exterior, Peugeot has made significant upgrades to the E-2008, enhancing its power and range. Borrowing hardware from the E-208 and E-308, the electric motor now delivers 156 hp (115 kW), a 15-percent improvement. Battery capacity has increased from 50 to 54 kWh, extending the WLTP range in the combined cycle from 345 to 406 kilometers (214 to 252 miles).

By early 2024, the powertrain selection will expand with a new hybrid option featuring a 136-hp gasoline engine paired with a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission, and an electric motor. This setup is said to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15 percent when compared to a non-hybrid gasoline engine. Peugeot anticipates city drivers will operate the vehicle in pure electric mode more than half the time.

For customers seeking a simpler powertrain, the lion-badged automaker will continue offering the 2008 with a three-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Producing either 100 hp through a six-speed manual gearbox or 130 hp via an eight-speed automatic, it presents a versatile choice. Alternatively, a four-cylinder, 1.5-liter diesel option rated at 130 hp is available exclusively with an automatic transmission.

The 2024 Peugeot 2008, along with the all-electric E-2008, will hit the market this summer, delivering a refreshed and versatile driving experience.
