Now, for those looking for a taste of luxury in a more modest package, fear not! The United States market will also be treated to a base model, the CLE 300 4Matic. It may have fewer cylinders, but it’s no slouch. Under the hood, you’ll find a 2.0-liter turbo engine, also equipped with a mild hybrid setup. This feisty powerplant delivers a spirited 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. And yes, it too is paired with the same nine-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes’ trusted 4Matic system. As for performance specifics, we’ll have to wait a little longer for the full scoop, but we do know that the top speed will be electronically capped at 130 miles per hour.
