2024 Mercedes CLE Cabriolet Revealed

Mercedes recently unveiled several captivating visuals of the upcoming convertible CLE, affirming its scheduled release for the year 2024. Excitingly, the CLE will be available for purchase in Europe as early as November, while North American enthusiasts can anticipate its arrival in the beginning months of 2024. What’s even more thrilling is that the CLE Cabriolet, a delightful top-down variant, will grace the showrooms of both continents in the latter part of that eventful year.

Unlike its C-Class counterpart, the CLE comes with a range of engine options that are sure to get your heart racing. The star of the show is the CLE 450 4Matic, featuring a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine with not one, but two snappy turbochargers. With the help of an integrated starter generator, this powertrain churns out an impressive 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system that has been given a sleek redesign, shedding some weight in the process.

Now, for those looking for a taste of luxury in a more modest package, fear not! The United States market will also be treated to a base model, the CLE 300 4Matic. It may have fewer cylinders, but it’s no slouch. Under the hood, you’ll find a 2.0-liter turbo engine, also equipped with a mild hybrid setup. This feisty powerplant delivers a spirited 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. And yes, it too is paired with the same nine-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes’ trusted 4Matic system. As for performance specifics, we’ll have to wait a little longer for the full scoop, but we do know that the top speed will be electronically capped at 130 miles per hour.
