2024 Mercedes Benz EQA Facelift Revealed

Mercedes-Benz has breathed new life into its entry-level electric compact crossover, the EQA, with a slew of captivating upgrades. The 2024 EQA presents a sleeker visage, boasting a reimagined front grille adorned with Mercedes’ signature star pattern, accompanied by a luminous light bar that seamlessly merges with the headlights. This visual revamp extends to the rear, where taillights flaunt an intricate 3D light signature, aligning the EQA with its larger EQ family counterparts.

Stepping inside reveals a refined interior akin to the upgraded EQB. The cabin showcases a fresh three-spoke steering wheel outfitted with touch-responsive controls. Trim pieces have been updated on the dashboard and doors, now featuring illuminated Mercedes logos. The focal point is the expanded infotainment screen setup, offering dual 10.0-inch screens driven by the latest MBUX system. With Subtle, Sporty, and Classic styles, these screens offer customizable displays. Notably, voice recognition has been bolstered, enhancing its adaptability to diverse conversations.

The most striking evolution lies in efficiency, translating to a remarkable surge in driving range. Through meticulous aerodynamic enhancements, optimized tires, and a novel range-maximization mode, the EQA now boasts a WLTP-rated range of up to 348 miles (560 kilometers) in the EQA 250+ model.

Charging convenience takes center stage with the introduction of the Plug & Charge function, enabling automatic initiation upon cable connection, eliminating authentication hassles.

The EQA lineup offers two battery choices, a 66.5-kilowatt-hour pack for some models and a 70.5-kWh pack for the EQA 250+ long-range variant. Both support up to 100 kW of DC fast charging.

Performance-wise, the EQA 250 and EQA 250+ feature a 140-kilowatt motor, while the EQA 300 4Matic and EQA 350 4Matic employ a dual-motor setup delivering 168 kW and 215 kW, respectively.

Safety and tech see an upswing as well, with improved sensor technology enhancing driving assistance systems. The optional Driving Assistance package introduces advanced features like refined Active Lane Keeping Assist.

Mercedes-Benz has slated the facelifted EQA for European orders in the upcoming fall, with deliveries starting in 2024. It’s crucial to note that, as before, the EQA will remain exclusive to European markets, adding to the allure of this revitalized gem.
