2024 Mercedes-AMG GT63 S 4-Door Coupe E Performance Revealed

Mercedes-AMG has breathed new life into the GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe, offering a fresh take on this super-sedan for the European market. This latest iteration, set to hit the roads in 2024, showcases a revamped front-end design, introduces a striking exterior color choice, and incorporates subtle refinements.

The 2024 GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe sports a facelift that draws inspiration from the recently launched AMG GT Coupe. The most noticeable change is the transformation of the lower grille, which has become broader and more slender, accentuating a sportier look. What used to be wide outboard intakes have now evolved into sleek vertical slits. The grille itself has been elongated and features added black trim along its lower edge.

Inside, the alterations are relatively minor but notable. Mercedes has made the electric sunroof and a wireless charging pad between the rear seats standard amenities. Additionally, the car’s MBUX infotainment system has been updated to include AMG-specific displays that can be individually configured to meet the driver’s preferences. A standard Burmester Surround Sound System is included, although buyers have the option to upgrade to the Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System.

Beneath the hood, the GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe retains its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, boasting a formidable 831 horsepower and 1,033 pound-feet of torque. This powerhouse is paired with the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G nine-speed transmission and the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system.

Back when it debuted in 2021, Mercedes proudly claimed that it could sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds and had a top speed of 196 mph. To ensure all that speed remains manageable, the vehicle is equipped with AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes, active rear-axle steering, and an AMG Ride Control+ suspension featuring adaptive damping.

For those looking to make a statement with their choice of exterior finish, there’s a new option called Opalite White Metallic. However, the wheel and upholstery selections remain unchanged. The updated Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe has a starting price of 207,709 euros in Germany, including VAT (which roughly converts to $218,687 at current exchange rates).

Customers have the opportunity to further customize their vehicle with various options. These include AMG Performance seats, the AMG Aerodynamics package, two AMG Night packages, the AMG Carbon package, and the AMG Chrome package. The Active Multicontour Seat package and Manufaktur Selenite Grey Magno paint are also available.

Earlier this year, Mercedes revamped the appearance of the GT43 and GT53 variants, taking design cues from the GT63 and infusing them into the lower-tier models within the lineup.
