Land Rover is pushing the envelope when it comes to comfort, premier off-road experiences, and family travel. The Range Rover line includes the namesake model, the RR Sport, RR Velar, and the compact RR Evoque. The Defender lineup is also rich with the 90, 110, and 130 variants, while the Discovery range is complemented by a Discovery Sport model.
In 2019, the Discovery Sport transitioned to the novel Jaguar Land Rover Premium Transverse Architecture platform following a comprehensive facelift. Now, Land Rover is revitalizing the range with an overhauled, sophisticated, yet plush interior, while emphasizing “enhanced adaptability and cutting-edge technology.”
The revamped cockpit houses the innovative Pivi Pro interface, showcased on a gracefully curved 11.4-inch touchscreen with “user-friendly controls”. A remodelled gear shifter, DuoLeather options for S and Dynamic SE models, and a sustainable Suedecloth/Luxtec combination made from recycled polyester microfibers further enhance the cabin. Every Discovery Sport trim now comes with a digital instrument cluster, gearshift paddles, Amazon Alexa, wireless Apple CarPlay, and more as standard. On the exterior, Gloss Black detailing adds contrast for the 2024 model, with optional 19-inch Gloss Black or Diamond Turned and Gloss Black 21-inch alloy wheels for a customized look.
The Discovery Sport continues its efficient journey with plug-in electric hybrid and mild hybrid electric powertrains. The P300e version boasts an updated battery chemistry that boosts real-world range up to 29 miles. With standard DC quick charging, the battery can be replenished from zero to 80% in just 30 minutes. The PHEV model combines an Ingenium 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a 14.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing a WLTP range of 38 miles. The powertrain options also include P250 and P200 gasoline models, as well as D200 or D165 Ingenium diesel variants. Pricing starts from £44,790 (OTR) in the UK, equivalent to $56,602 based on current exchange rates.
