2024 Kia EV9 GT Line Electric SUV Is The Future Of Transportation

Design enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the EV9 is a vehicle that places a strong emphasis on the aesthetics of every single detail, including the selection of available wheel options that range in size from 19 to 21 inches. For those seeking an even more design-driven appearance, the EV9 GT-Line offers a model-exclusive styling that includes raised roof rails and 21-inch, exclusive alloy wheels and tires. In addition, the EV9 is available in a choice of either gloss or factory matte finish paint options.

But the design is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the EV9’s impressive features. This vehicle is the second Kia model based on the cutting-edge E-GMP platform and the first to feature fourth-generation battery technology designed for improved energy density. Drivers will have the option of choosing from two different powertrain configurations at launch. The standard model features a 76.1-kWh battery with a 160-kW (215-hp) motor that drives the rear wheels. On the other hand, drivers can opt for a 99.8-kWh battery in a single-motor configuration targeting 300 miles of all-electric range (AER), or a dual-motor, 283-kW (379-hp) torque vectoring all-wheel-drive configuration with 516 lb.-ft. of torque.

The EV9 also offers four different drive modes for drivers to choose from: Eco, Normal, Sport, and My Mode. In addition, the EV9 is equipped with a maximum DC charging speed of up to 230kW, which facilitates quick charging with compatible DC chargers. The 11kW onboard charger also enables expedient Level 2 charging.

Excitingly, the EV9 is expected to debut in the U.S. in Q4 2023 and is anticipated to be assembled locally in West Point, Ga., beginning in 2024. This will mark a significant milestone for Kia as it will be the first Kia EV to be assembled locally in the U.S. Pricing, availability, specific trim details, and EPA-rated AER for the EV9 are still yet to be announced, but there is no doubt that the EV9 will be a highly anticipated addition to the Kia lineup.
