2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Premieres With Two Powertrains for US

The forthcoming 2024 edition of the Hyundai Santa Fe, marking its fifth generation, is poised to make its debut in South Korea within the coming weeks. However, for North America and Europe, an anticipatory release is expected in the initial six months of 2024. Turning our attention to North America, a vivid spectrum of 11 exterior shades awaits prospective buyers – ranging from the commanding Phantom Black to the serene Serenity White Pearl, and further encompassing the refined Curated Silver Metallic, the eco-centric Ecotronic Gray Pearl, and even the distinctive Ecotronic Gray Matte. The palette continues to unfold with the captivating Ultimate Red Metallic, the nature-inspired Earthy Brass Metallic Matte, the deep-sea evoking Atlantis Blue Pearl, the dignified Hampton Gray, the vibrant Terracotta Orange, and lastly, the earthy Rockwood Green Pearl.

Nestled within the cabin, the focal point is the Panoramic Curved Display, an assembly comprising of paired 12.3-inch screens – one dedicated to the digital instrumentation array and the other to the infotainment system. Additionally, the second and third rows of seats have been ingeniously designed for utmost flexibility, allowing them to be fully folded. This design ethos aims to establish a tiered arrangement akin to a terrace, particularly advantageous when the tailgate, with its enhanced width, is open. Delving into the realm of sustainability, the interior features incorporate environmentally friendly materials, an embodiment of the Hyundai brand’s commitment to eco-consciousness. Notably, the sleek black external finish employs recycled carbon components, while the North American variant of the Ecotronic Gray paint is the result of a meticulous application involving natural bamboo charcoal coating.

Venturing into the realm of interior aesthetics, the selection spans across five primary color options – the elegant Obsidian Black, the sophisticated Supersonic Gray, the warm Pecan Brown, the verdant Forest Green, and the classic Black Ink. Beyond the realm of colors, the grand revelations from the global premiere center on the assortment of powertrains on offer. In South Korea and across North America, the 2024 Santa Fe will grace the market with two distinct engine choices. One is a robust Theta III 2.5T GDI engine in tandem with an 8DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission, boasting an impressive power output of 281 ps/277 hp. Complementing this, an electrified Gamma III 1.6T GDI HEV engine (paired with a 6AT) delivers a commendable 180 ps/178 hp.

Transitioning to the European landscape, a distinct trend emerges. Every variant of the 2024 Santa Fe destined for Europe will embrace electrification. The selection includes the conventional hybrid option, alongside the compelling 1.6-liter turbo plug-in hybrid variant, which boasts an output of 160 ps/158 hp. In other geographical regions, a conventional 2.5-liter engine takes the center stage, generating a spirited 194 ps/191 hp, harmoniously mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
